Montgomery County Public Schools

The Montgomery County Public School (MCPS) System provides services for youth receiving special education services. Transition services are defined in the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) as a coordinated set of activities for students designed within an outcome-oriented process, which promotes movement from school to post-school activities including postsecondary education, vocational training, integrated employment, continuing and adult education, adult services, independent living, and community participation. As a MCEP collaborator, MCPS provides awareness, outreach, and referral.
